Una delle forme creative più immediate, capace di attraversare la storia e i secoli, dall’antichità a oggi, è la maschera. Legata a una produzione tribale, così come a un’era post-moderna, può essere di materiali diversi, dal legno alla pietra, dalla plastica al ferro, dalla carta ai tessuti.
Tale varietà può essere associata ai molteplici significati e utilizzi a essa connessi: una maschera può essere servire a nascondere e, allo stesso tempo, a mostrare qualcosa; a cambiare la realtà in cui viviamo, rivelando al contempo una profonda verità; e, ancora, a filtrare ciò che sta davanti a noi, mentre lo affrontiamo.
Questo tema, con il suo interessante bagaglio di complessità, è protagonista della mostra allestita presso lo spazio Millepiani di Roma, visitabile per tutto il mese di Marzo.

One of the most immediate creative forms going through history and centuries, from the ancient times until today, is the mask. Connected to a tribal production as well as to a post-modern era, it can be shaped within a multitude of materials, from wood to stone, from plastic to iron, from paper to textiles. This variety can be also associated to its multiple meanings and purposes. A mask can be used to hide and, at the same time, to show something; to change the reality while revealing a profound truth; to filter what is in front of us, whilst directly approaching it.
This theme, with its interesting complexity, is exhibited at the space Millepiani in Rome during the whole month of March.
